Liberté as the name suggests is a great way of thinking about exercise and fitness and liberating yourself from the confines of a gym and other normal exercise routines. More than this our pledge to you is that it is so much fun that is doesn’t even feel like exercise!

We exercise in a group in a fantastic park setting in Bury St Edmunds. Our training is focused on improving your health and fitness. Our outdoor fitness classes use a wide variety of training techniques and exercises from cardiovascular work, circuit training, specific toning and muscular endurance to team games. While this might sound like just another exercise bootcamp, the atmosphere and sheer fun that happens around our sessions quickly dispels that idea.

All our sessions are taught by fun and friendly qualified instructors who will ensure you reach your maximum potential each and every time and we welcome people of all ages, sex, shapes, sizes and fitness levels. Your instructors have been chosen for their fun nature and are always motivational, friendly, kind, dynamic and driven so you do not need to worry about needing motivation – we provide that. Each session is fun but challenging and hard work. As everything we do is focussed on time rather than repetitions it allows everyone to work at their own pace and get the most out of each session. The encouragement of the other members, general banter and resultant laughter make each session so much fun and the camaraderie of the group generates the accountability factor (that and not wanting to miss out on the fun of course)!



We only use fully qualified Personal Trainers for our classes, they are all very different and our members think they rock !

Tony Germany

Tony is an experienced trainer having studied sport science at university and worked in a variety of fitness centres both in the UK and abroad. He is passionate about incorporating variety into training sessions and loves to get the boxing gloves out. He believes that training in the great outdoors is not only beneficial for fitness but also for mental health. A big coffee lover, which is useful as Tony is a full time teacher by day as he strives to get the best out of the members and his students alike

David Calver

David has been a full time personal trainer since April 2006 and has trained all shapes and sizes in that time. David is passionate about health and fitness and loves seeing joy in people when they achieve a goal and knowing that he is the one that  pushed them to get there (although not always willingly). Aside from teaching fantastic Liberte sessions he is based at the Bury Rugby Club gym and has been training his goal seekers there since 2010. David loves a bit of kit and often brings his toys to the park. His favourite piece of kit would have to be the TRX purely for its versatility and portability.

Iain Hamilton
Iain Hamilton Instructor

Iain became an instructor at Liberte Fitness after being a dedicated member for over two years. He is a firm believer that exercising outdoors on varied terrain can make impressive differences to your strength, stamina and stability in both sport and everyday life. Exercising outdoors gives a huge boost to happiness and positivity. Iain adds a unique creative element to Liberte Fitness and crafts different adaptations to exercises which is great for the mind and body. When not teaching Liberte sessions, Iain is rock climbing, shooting hoops, running through muddy fields or entering adventure races.
