HERE IS WHAT OUR MEMBERS HAVE TO SAY
STILL NOT CONVINCED? WHY NOT HAVE A READ OF JENNY, ROWLAND AND KEVIN’S STORIES BELOW
Before Liberte, I was miserable & unfit. I’ve never found a sport or exercise I have enjoyed so have never stuck to anything. I have been clinically depressed for several years & was really in a rut, I knew that exercise would be good for me & being outside appealed.
I was really worried I would look stupid & not be able to keep up. I couldn’t keep up, but I certainly didn’t feel stupid. I was also worried about what to wear.
I’ve been coming for over two years & try to do 3 sessions a week. Not only am I much fitter & have lost over a stone, but I’ve found a wonderful new partner who is a fellow Libertarian! I have made some lovely knew friends who I socialise with &I feel part of the group.
I feel well & happy. I may never be a top class athlete but I am fitter than I have ever been & feel good for it. I always look forward to coming to the park whatever the weather. I look forward to seeing the other Libertarians & enjoy the laughter & banter.
I was slightly overweight, especially in the tummy area & didn’t feel particularly strong and ran out of oomph pretty quickly
I had very few reservations. I’m not scared to stand out & worked on the principle there’d be others in worse shape. Mentally I was fine & looked forward to the opportunity to get fitter & meet more like minded people.
I feel much fitter & the tummy has definitely shrunk, though still a one pack rather than a six pack. In terms of my primary sport, dinghy racing, I feel much more able to compete for the duration & do better as a result. The regular exercise sessions have also added structure to my week & introduced me to a range of really great people who I genuinely look forward to seeing & socialising with.
Liberte has enabled me to be fitter now than during most of my adult life. It’s enabled me to do better in the sport I love (sailing) & has introduced me to a new circle of friends, including one very special lady. When I’m away I really miss it and perhaps that’s the best advert ever.
I was a member of a gym & a fairly regular user. I was also a member of a running club. I was the Suffolk Vet 50 Half Marathon Champion & regularly ran sub 3.30 marathons.
I was looking for a different challenge because working on my own in a gym no longer did it for me.
When I heard from a friend about Liberte I had no hesitation about going for a trial session. I am ex military & love the camaraderie of the group exercise sessions, there is something bonding about doing sit-ups & press-ups in the snow, rain, cold & mud.
From the first session I was hooked & injuries apart I have been a regular attendee for some years now.
Keeping fit & active has always been part of my life. When I was an International Canoeist I was used to doing three training sessions per day. Group sessions now enable me to push myself as hard as I like. There is no pressure from the instructor & no one is ever singled out for not trying hard enough, there is plenty of encouragement. The fitness levels vary & this is part of the appeal of Liberte, no matter how unfit you are you will be welcomed to the class & will soon find friends to work with.
